KARIMOKU NEW STANDARD AND GIROFLEX COLLABORATE TO LAUNCH TIMBER TASK CHAIR IN MILAN

For this limited-edition timber task chair, Giroflex partnered with Karimoku New Standard (KNS), the Japanese contemporary brand for wooden design furniture, which brings an unparalleled expertise in wood manufacture to the collaboration. Designed by Swiss design studio BIG-GAME, the giroflex 150 is a distinctly contemporary interpretation of the classic wooden office chair, a celebration of the beauty of natural materials, and an homage to a century and a half of Giroflex design.

KARIMOKU FURNITURE OPENS KARIMOKU COMMONS TOKYO

Japan’s leading wooden furniture manufacturer Karimoku Furniture Inc. is pleased to announce the opening of Karimoku Commons Tokyo on February 12 – a new space over three floors to showcase its different high-end furniture brands, including the internationally renowned brands Karimoku New Standard and Karimoku Case Study. The new hybrid space in central Tokyo is the second to follow after Karimoku Commons Osaka and will act as a showroom, gallery and office space, allowing visitors to experience the versatile crafting skills and wooden furniture made by Karimoku Furniture.

KARIMOKU NEW STANDARD INTRODUCES ITS NOVELTIES 2020

This spring, Karimoku New Standard debuts a number of new concept models and introduces new additions to their portfolio. Known for its distinct collection of high-quality wooden furniture, the Japanese brand introduces novelties by international designers Christian Haas, GECKELER MICHELS and Moritz Schlatter. The elegant Elephant series by designer Christan Haas is extended with a comfortable, mobile pouf in two sizes and built-in castors as well as a side table with an asymmetrical leg, allowing for easy access from the sofa. The Spectrum Workstation by German studio GECKELER MICHELS is debuted in new dimensions as well as with a single table top version. Additionally, KNS introduces the new Polar Lounge Chair by Moritz Schlatter in two sizes.

The Japanese design brand Karimoku New Standard (KNS) celebrates its 10th anniversary at this year’s Milan Design Week with two exceptional exhibitions – at Salone del Mobile and in an apartment with a beautiful garden in the vibrant design district Brera. In addition to a fresh new brand identity, website and visual appearance, KNS debuts a number of new products and extends its existing portfolio to include lighting concepts, kitchens, outdoor furniture and accessories by acclaimed designers from the KNS designer portfolio, including Christian Haas, BIG-GAME, Scholten & Baijings and GECKELER MICHELS as well as new aspiring design talents such as Moritz Schlatter and Dimitri Baehler.

KARIMOKU NEW STANDARD AT SALONE DEL MOBILE 2018

The Japanese contemporary furniture brand Karimoku New Standard showcases again at Salone del Mobile in April, debuting the simple yet striking universal chair, PANORAMA, by Berlin designers GECKELER MICHELS, PROP, a line of shelving by Swiss design studio BIG-GAME, the ARCHIVE shelf by German designer CHRISTIAN HAAS as well as a number of new additions to existing collections, such as the Elephant Sofa as a 1-seater and island, the castor barstool with a backrest and the scout bistro bar table.
