In the heart of Berlin, the city’s first inuspheresis practice has opened in the Trion office building on almost 300 square metres. With the aim of creating a functional and atmospheric space for modern and holistic detox treatments, Batek Architects planned an elegant interior concept. Light and natural materials structure the functional areas of the practice in a way that is comprehensible to the team and patients, creating a clean, calming interior.
With their signature sensitivity towards existing spaces, BATEK ARCHITEKTEN have brought new allure to the foyer and two smaller auditoriums of the Passage cinema through a series of precise interventions. This has allowed the historic aura of the hundred-year-old building in Neukölln to unfold in new ways yet simultaneously fulfill the functional and aesthetic requirements for a visit to a contemporary cinema.
With a sensitive approach to existing spaces that is typical of the Berlin architectural office, BATEK ARCHITEKTEN have adapted the Blauer Stern – for the first time a cinema venue since 1933 – to the requirements of today’s cinema operations with the help of carefully targeted interventions. The resulting spatial concept is stringently thought out, colorful as well as functional, and creates a striking framework for the cinematic experience.
The industrial loft has a reputation as a bachelor-pad dream thanks to its generosity of space
and historical charm. But with their renovation of this 240-square-metre former factory space
in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district, BATEK ARCHITEKTEN have shown that loft life can also suit a family
of five as well. Known for its functional, consistently thought-through and future oriented spatial
concepts, the Berlin-based architecture office proves once again with the conversion of this
historical loft its sensitive approach to existing spaces and their character.
The VAAY Flagship Store in Berlin is BATEK ARCHITEKTEN’s second commission for the brand.
As with their VAAY Pop-up Store, which is also in Berlin, this primary outlet is all about creating
a framework for the brand experience using just a few, well placed elements. VAAY’s business
is selling health and lifestyle products based on CBD, which is a legal, active ingredient of
the hemp plant. Known for its functional, consistently thought-through and future oriented
spatial concepts of private and public interiors, the Berlin-based architecture office proves
once again its innovative approach to retail design.
